2nd Highest Three Man Series Shot in Indiana

Brian Eger bowling in the Evansville Courier and Press All Star League, at Franklin Lanes, lead the Book Broker team to the second highest, three man team series (2439), ever bowled in the history of the sport last Thursday. Eger bowled games of 269-289-289 for an 847 series. He was followed by Dick Dube 264-278-290 for an 832 series and Chad Buttry 279-213-268 for a 760 series. The Book Broker had team games of 812-780-847 for a 2439 series.

Mark Miller, USBC Public Relations, said, “Once this score has been turned in and approved it will be No. 2 on the all-time list behind only a 2,443 in Wilkes-Barre, PA., in 1999.” Oddly, the team they beat for 2 nd place is also from Wilkes-Barre, PA, who shot a 2427 series in March 2003.

Their 2439 team series is an Indiana State record, but at the time of this writing, it could not be confirmed if their 847 team game is a state record. Mark Miller added, “Our overall game records only go down to 855 with nobody there or above from Indiana. Don't know if any team in your state has rolled between 847 and 855 so we can't confirm if the game is a state record or not.”

Brian Eger said, of the record, “I didn't realize how special of a night it was until a couple of hours after we finished.  You're so involved in what you're doing, focused on execution, that you lose track of what the team is doing.  It's always special when you shoot 800.  But, the team accomplishment means so much more.  I'm blessed with the opportunity to bowl with some really talented people."

Also in the Evansville Courier and Press All Star League, Mike Huff bowling for Bowler’s Solution Pro Shop fired games of 278-300-247 for an 825. Dave Curtis bowling in the Bristol Meyers League, also at Franklin Lanes, bowled a 300 game and a 707 series.
