RE: Election of Alabama USBC State Association Officers and Directors
The election of Alabama USBC Officers and Directors will be held at the 2009 Alabama USBC Annual Meeting, July 18, 2009. The following positions are subject to election for a 3-year term:

Director #2 Phylis Parker

Youth Director #1 Mike Sutton
Candidate Eligibility Requirements:
A member in good standing of the association at the time of election and throughout their term.
Elected or appointed without regard to race, color, religion, gender, disability, national origin, or age, other than the minimum age of 14, unless state laws mandate a specific age, and be reasonably representative of the membership.
Any member of the board authorized to sign contracts or acting as a signatory on association accounts must be of legal contractual age.
A maximum of three bowling center proprietors may serve on the board at one time. A proprietor is an individual who is the owner, partner, or corporate officer of a bowling center or group of bowling centers. Excluded from the definition of proprietor is an individual who owns 25% or less of the equity shares, or who is inactive in the management of the bowling center and remains so during a term as an officer or director.
Additional eligibility requirements, if any, will be developed by the nominating committee to be approved by the delegates representing adults and Youth Representatives.
A local association shall not have more than three members on the Alabama USBC Board of Directors. (Adult elected members).
If a decision is made to present a name for nomination, first obtain consent of the candidate. Nominations submitted on behalf of or endorsed by an association, executive board, or group of officers, should have been voted on by the particular group.
Enclosed are Alabama USBC Candidate Nomination Forms. Forms need to be completed and mailed to the Association Manager and the Committee Chairperson. The completed forms must be postmarked no later than June 1, 2009.
Incumbents’ are not automatically nominated for their positions. Nomination forms should be submitted the same as any other nominee. However, the Nominating Committee, at their discretion, reserves the right to consider incumbents.
Any individual or association may endorse a candidate by letter, without submitting additional candidate forms. Letters of Endorsement must be postmarked no later than June 1, 2009.
Nominations may be presented from the floor for election during the Alabama USBC Annual Meeting. Completed nomination form must be provided to each member of the nominating committee at least 24 hours prior to the beginning of the Alabama USBC Annual Meeting. The nominating committee will review the forms for eligibility requirements.
