NEWSLETTER NOW ONLINE
We are adding the newsletter to our web site to help cut down on the cost of making copies. However, we will still provide copies for the bowling centers. To help make this newsletter informative we are requesting input from all members of the association. ROGER GLOVER TO ASSUME POSITION OF ASSOCIATION MANAGER ON AUGUST 1, 2013
The Board of Directors at the October 21st meeting selected Roger Glover to succeed Don Coleman as Association Manager for the Central Alabama USBC Association effective on August 1, 2013. Roger is currently the 2nd Vice President of the association and a committee member on the Legal, Awards, Lane Inspection, and Tournament Committees. Roger is well qualified to assume this responsibility having been a league secretary, vice president, and president of many leagues. He currently is secretary of the Coors Capitol League. Before coming to Montgomery, Roger was a director and vice president in the Lubbock, Texas Bowling Association. Before assuming his duties on August 1, 2013, he will be working with Don Coleman learning all the aspects of the position.
CAA BOARD APPROVE CHANGES TO THE BOWLER OF THE YEAR POINT SYSTEM
At the June 24, 2012 Central Alabama USBC Association meeting, the Board of Directors approved and added the following changes to the Bowler of the Year Point System. The changes will be effective for the 2012-2013 season.
3rd ANNUAL SENIOR DOUBLES-SINGLES TOURNAMENT
The 3rd Annual Senior Doubles-Singles will be held on January 26th and 27th at Bama Lanes in Prattville. Entries for the tournament close on January 12th. Entry fee is $20 per event with an optional all-events at $4. Highlights of the tournament are as follows:
1. Handicap is based on 90% of 230.
2. There are three divisions based on your average: Doubles Event(Combined Averages) Singles Event Div I 299 & Under Div I 149 & under Div II 300 to 359 Div II 150 to 179 Div III 360 & over Div III 180 & over
3. You may bowl doubles one day and singles the next day or bowl both the same day.
4. You may bowl multiple times in doubles (only once in singles)
5. You may just bowl doubles or just bowl singles.
6. You must be 50 years of age as of August 1, 2012 and a member of the Central Alabama USBC Association.
7. Entry forms are available at all the bowling centers or you may download a form on this page.
