Tournament Rules

1. ELIGIBILTY: Open to all members of the United States Bowling Congress. Entrants must show current USBC membership card or must pay current USBC dues for an unattached membership prior to bowling.  Not more than two (2) professional members may bowl on any five (5) member team and not more than one (1) professional member may bowl in doubles.
2. MULTIPLE PARTICIPANTS: Bowlers may bowl only once in SINGLES & DOUBLES events. Participation in TEAM event is UNLIMITED, but NOT MORE THAN THREE (3) MEMBERS ON THE SAME TEAM CAN CASH MORE THAN ONCE IN THE PRIZE LIST FOR POSITION STANDINGS. Bowler’s first appearance in a TEAM event shall count toward ALL-EVENTS score.
3. PARTICIPATION: Bowlers must enter both SINGLES & DOUBLES events to enter in either.
4. SCHEDULING: Entries will be scheduled based on postmark order. Entries must list three (3) preferences for times and dates.
5. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: Entry closing date is MAY 1st, 2010 NO EXTENSIONS. All entries postmarked the first post office day after the entry closing date will be accepted. Additional entries for any event will not be accepted after that date. Half (1/2) entries in Singles & Doubles will not be accepted. All entry fees must accompany the entry form.
6. ENTRY FEE: Entry fee is $20.00 per bowler per event. Entries received without ALL entry fees WILL BE RETURNED. Optional ALL EVENTS Handicap and Scratch are $6.00 each. Bowlers may choose to enter both, one, or neither of the All Events. Prize fund returned 100%.
7. OPTIONAL SCRATCH EVENTS: FEES ARE AN ADDITIONAL $10.00 PER PERSON FOR EACH TEAM, DOUBLES, AND SINGLES EVENT. OPTIONAL SCRATCH TEAM, DOUBLES, AND SINGLES EVENTS CAN BE ONLY ENTERED IF PARTICIPANT IS ENTERED IN THE HANDICAP EVENT.
8. REFUND: There will be NO REFUND, team or individual after scheduled dates have been assigned.
9. PRIZE REPORTING: Any bowler who has qualified for a cash and/or merchandise prize of $600 or more in any event  in the position standings prize list of a tournament within the previous 12 months must report their actual score, position, and amount won to tournament manager prior to bowling for possible re-rating. Such re-rating must be accomplished before the entrant bowls, and if not accepted; the entry fee shall be refunded. Failure to comply with these provisions shall be cause for forfeit of entry fee and prize winnings. See USBC rule 319d.
10. ENTERING AVERAGE: Any valid averages must consist of at least 21 games. Entrants will use their highest USBC average for 2008-2009 winter season in a sanctioned league. If none, entrants will use their highest VERIFIED average as of April 1, 2010. If neither average applies, entrants will use their highest VERIFIED average established in a sanctioned 2009 summer league. Sport League bowlers must have their averages adjusted. All others will bowl scratch. USBC Rule 319a(2) – The Ten (10) Pin Rule – Does Apply as of April 1, 2010.
11. AVERAGE ADJUSTMENT: USBC Rule 319e “AVERAGE ADJUSTMENT FOR ENTRY” will apply.
12. AVERAGE VERIFICATION: Average of winners will be verified prior to issuing prize monies. Claims for prize money must be made within 45 days of receipt of prize list, or claims will be disallowed. Claims must be made to the SBA Executive Director.
13. HANDICAP: Handicap will be 90% of the difference between the bowlers entering average and 230.
14. CHECK IN TIME: One (1) hour prior to scheduled squad time.
15. REPLACEMENTS / SUBSTITUTIONS: Team Captains may make replacements by reporting such replacements to tournament office at least 45 minutes prior to the scheduled bowling time. ALL-EVENTS entry may be transferred ONLY IF THE TRANSFER IS MADE BEFORE EITHER OF THE BOWLERS HAS PARTICIPATED IN THE TOURNAMENT.
16. ORDER OF BOWLING: Teams will bowl in the order submitted on the entry form. Only the tournament manager may grant exceptions.
17. BOWLERS RESPONSIILITY: Bowlers are responsible for verifying their own average, whether submitted by the bowler, the team captain or others. If the submitted average is lower than required under rule #10 and results in more handicap, the bowlers score will be disqualified. If the submitted average is higher than required, prize winnings will be based on the submitted average. NO AVERAGE WILL BE VERIFIED BY TOURNAMENT OFFICALS PRIOR TO BOWLING.
18. PRIZE DISTRIBUTION: Prize money will be distributed at a ratio of at least one (1) for every ten (10) entries in TEAM, SINGLES & DOUBLES and ALL EVENTS handicap and scratch events. Trophies or plaques will be awarded to both Scratch and Handicap winners in each event.
19. OFFICIAL SCORE: The computer printout or telescore will be the official score.
20. TARDY BOWLERS: Bowlers who miss one or more frames by not being present and ready to bowl when it is their turn, shall be credited with zero (0) pins for those frames missed.
21. PARENTAL CONSENT: Unmarried grade or high school students who have not attained the age of 18 must have written consent of their parents or guardian in order to participate. (See USBC rule 13).
22. DISPUTES: The tournament site-manager will resolve any disputes based on tournament rules.
23. DRESS CODE: Approved attire includes shirts with sleeves, slacks, dress jeans, shorts, and skorts. The following is not allowed: tank tops, short-shorts, swim suits, spandex, and hats. All decisions of proper attire will remain with the tournament manager.
24. Tournament Manager has the right to add dates and times as deemed necessary.
25. USBC rules shall govern any rules not covered above.
