Tournament Rules

1.

Eligibility

This tournament is open to all members of the United States Bowling Congress and USBC Rules and Regulations will govern this tournament. Entrants must show a current USBC membership card or purchase an affiliate USBC membership.

2.

Multiple Participation

Bowlers may bowl only one time in Singles and Doubles events. Bowlers may bowl twice in the Team event, but no more than three (3) bowlers may repeat on the same team. Bowler's first appearance in the Team event shall count towards the All Events score.

3.

Participation

Bowlers must enter both the Handicap Doubles and Handicap Singles events to enter either. Half (1/2) entries in the Handicap Doubles and Handicap Singles will not be accepted. Half (1/2) entries in scratch doubles will not be accepted. Optional Senior Singles and Senior All-Events are available for those over age 55.

4.

Entry Fees

No entry will be accepted without entry fees. No refunds will be made after the entry has been received and scheduled to bowl.

5.

Average

A bowler will use his previous season's highest sanctioned average based on 21 or more games. If bowler has no previous season winter average, the bowler shall use the highest previous summer average of 21 or more games. if a bowler has no previous winter or summer league average, the highest current average as of January 1, 2010 for 21 or more games shall be used. Bowlers without an acceptable average will use a 210 scratch average. The ten-pin rule does not apply. Sport Bowling Averages must be reported to tournament management prior to bowling.

IT SHALL BE EACH BOWLERS' RESPONSIBILITY TO VERIFY THE ACCURACY OF THE SUBMITTED AVERAGE.FAILURE TO USE THE CORRECT AVERAGE SHALL DISQUALIFY SCORE, IF SUBMITTED AVERAGE IS LOWER THAN THE CORRECTAVERAGE THEREBY RESULTING IN MORE HANDICAP. PRIZE WINNINGS SHALL BE BASED ON THE SUBMITTED AVERAGE IF IT IS HIGHERTHAN THE CORRECT AVERAGE.

6.

Average Verification

The League Secretary or Association Secretary must certify averages. Bowlers without certified averages will be considered a 210 bowler and receive no handicap.

7.

Handicap

The handicap will be 90% of the difference between a bowler's average and 210. A minimum average of 125 shall be used for handicapping purposes. (maximum handicap 229)

8.

Prize Reporting

A bowler who has qualified for a prize of $600.00 or more in any event in a tournament within the previous 12 month period must report the actual score, position, and amount won to the tournament manager at time of entry.

9.

Re-rate

All bowlers subject to re-rating in accordance with USBC Rule 319e must submit required tournament scores and prize money won. Tournament management reserves the right to re-rate the average of any bowler whose entering average does not reflect the bowler's ability.

10.

Replacements

Replacements will be authorized after the completion of a substitute form by the team captain or appointee. Replacements should be made at least one (1) hour in advance of the scheduled bowling time. All Events may be transferred only if the substitute bowls all three (3) of the events as a substitute for the same bowler.

11.

Prizes

Prize ratio will be at least one (1) prize for each eight (8) entries for Team, Doubles and Singles and at least one (1) prize for each twenty (20) entries in the ALL EVENTS for both the handicap and optional scratch divisions. All prize money will be returned 100%. All Events expense fee includes $1.00 for SBC Scholarship Fund. All members of team and both doubles partners must enter, when entering the optional scratch events. Optional scratch events can only be entered if already entered in the handicap events..

12.

Official Score

The signed recap sheet will be the official score.

13.

Management

The Southern Bowling Congress reserves the right to refuse any or all entries.

14.

Tournament Dress Code

While competing, proper attire shall include shirts with sleeves, dress slacks or jeans, and dress shorts. No tank tops, denim shorts or cutoffs, swimsuits, spandex, dresses or hats. NO OBSCENE ATTIRE. All issues with regard to proper attire will be decided upon by tournament management.

15.

Scheduling

First priority will be given to Officers, Directors and Delegates on meeting weekend. Out of town entries will be given time preferences. Singles and Doubles will be scheduled with a maximum of three (3) entries to a pair of lanes. SINGLES WILL BE BOWLED FIRST AND ALL SIX(6) GAMES WILL BE BOWLED ON THE SAME PAIR OF LANES. ADDITIONAL SQUADS MAY BE ADDED IF NECESSARY.
